Dynamic Lock is a convenient feature to help protect your PC and enhance your overall security when you need to step away from your PC.
It is a feature available in Windows 10 and later that automatically locks your Windows PC when you move away, typically using a paired Bluetooth device (like your smartphone or watch). To set up Dynamic Lock, follow these steps.
- Pair Your Bluetooth Device: First, make sure your PC and Bluetooth device are paired. You can do this in the Windows settings under “Devices” and then “Bluetooth & other devices.
- Enable Dynamic Lock: Go to “Settings” > “Accounts” > “Sign-in options.” Scroll down until you see “Dynamic Lock” and check the box that says, “Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you’re away.”
- Test It! To make sure Dynamic Lock works, walk away from your laptop with your paired Bluetooth device. After a short period of inactivity, Windows will automatically lock the laptop to keep your data secure.
