Dynamic Lock

Dynamic Lock is a convenient feature to help protect your PC and enhance your overall security when you need to step away from your PC.

It is a feature available in Windows 10 and later that automatically locks your Windows PC when you move away, typically using a paired Bluetooth device (like your smartphone or watch). To set up Dynamic Lock, follow these steps.

  1. Pair Your Bluetooth Device: First, make sure your PC and Bluetooth device are paired. You can do this in the Windows settings under “Devices” and then “Bluetooth & other devices.
  2. Enable Dynamic Lock: Go to “Settings” > “Accounts” > “Sign-in options.” Scroll down until you see “Dynamic Lock” and check the box that says, “Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you’re away.”
  3. Test It! To make sure Dynamic Lock works, walk away from your laptop with your paired Bluetooth device. After a short period of inactivity, Windows will automatically lock the laptop to keep your data secure.
